Hirschsprung's disease is one of the most common gastrointestinal abnormalities of children. The most common symptom is constipation. In severe cases, colon is blocked and child is unable to defecate. Treatment is surgical removal of the affected part of colon. Most children will have normal bowel movements after surgery.
